What's going on in your family... graduations, birthdays, anniversaries?

Bernie Whalen - Spring 2022

Karen & I recently visited our son Greg, his wife, Daphne and our First Grandson, Walker (14mos) in The Netherlands.

Our daughter and her boyfriend, Chris from Chicago joined us there.

To give them a break Karen & I took a train to Cologne. We met some Dubliners in the bar car and never left.  Over 2 hours later after many, many beers and a hilarious train ride we reached Cologne. The bar car will never be the same.

While there we visited the Cologne Cathedral (Kolner Dom) and as   we're walking out, lighting struck. I wonder why? A message maybe?

The next day we took a Rhine River cruise heading north to look where the lightning struck but found many beautiful castles instead.  Finally took the train back to The Hague.

Checked to see if our  new Irish relatives decided to take a roundtrip. Not seeing them, we  took our seats.  On our return we spent a few more days spoiling our grandson.

Last day we went on a trip to Scheveningen Beach. Walker's first steps in sand, getting him ready for the Jersey Shore.

Bob Comizzoli - April 2021

In April I contracted the coronavirus. I know how this happened, but this story is about how I got through it. That process was made possible and guided by nursing and other staff here at Stonebridge, a continuing care retirement community, where I continued to reside in my apartment, and by my two loving daughters.

Members of nursing staff guided and made possible my recovery by ensuring early detection of the virus, daily monitoring of my condition and medication, and guiding my intake of food and liquids.

They also encouraged me with words and smiles, and kept track of my oxygen level and blood pressure readings that I was measuring myself.  The nourishing foods from our kitchen and delivery staff were important, too. My doctors prescribed medications that my daughters delivered to my back porch.

And my daughters also supplied many home-made food items and tasty snacks and beverages. They also stood out on the lawn and waved and shouted encouraging words.

This is a short story that in reality had a lot of content about good and caring people, and words cannot describe. I recovered well enough to do two mile plus walks along the rough trails that surround us here in Montgomery Township.

Best Wishes,

Bob Comizzoli

Vince - June, 2020 Fathers Day - Social Distancing Style

"These days, just getting outside the house is a major accomplishment... For the first time in more than 3 months, Stephanie and I were with a group of folks (Vince's family) for Fathers Day, with a bit of a twist.

As you can see in the photos, we had a good crowd - there were 12 of us - but there was a lot of room between most of them, And masks... there were masks. And hand sanitizer... Not a typical setting for our family.

" But there was great food, and a very comfortable space to spread out in, which made for a great day. We hope everyone had a great Fathers Day, and is staying safe...
